Eureka Books has proudly served readers since 1987. They are a full-service independent bookstore selling new, used, and antiquarian books along with a variety of book-adjacent goods. They also kites as they "aim to help your imagination soar!"
Housed in the 1879 J. Lowenthal building, the architecture features gorgeous and unique Elizabethan and Corinthian details and is one of many many Old Town Buildings on the National Register of Historic Places. The building's history includes originating as a men's haberdashery, a livery to supply pre-automotive transportation needs, the upper stories turning into the Louvre Cafe, (the sign for which is still visible on the back of the building), and the downstairs becoming the High Lead -- a roughneck logger bar.
Just steps away from Carter House Inns, guests get to wander and explore beautiful, historic Old Town Eureka and Eureka Books is one of the many Victorian jewels of Old Town.
